The Annual Overnight Ride From Holyhead To Skegness and it takes place overnight on June 22nd/23rd 2013
Fancy the joy of open roads? Travelling along at the speed limit with no hold-ups? Peace and quiet(apart from the sound of a load of motorcycles)?
2 in the morning on the A50 - nothing else about, great bits of road, no boring motorways no police coz they're too busy dealing with drunks in the towns and speed cameras don't work at night (okay, that bit's a lie!). All topped off with a bacon butty at 4 in the morning while watching the sunrise over glorious Skeggy beach, ( okay! okay! that might be stretching things a little bit too - but it is nice at Skeggy).
The ride departs from Southstack Car park, Holyhead at 9.30pm and travels across country (no Motorways) and aims to arrive at Skegness by 4.15am just as the sun rises.
The ride/route is fully marshalled and there are plenty of fuel/refreshment stops along the way.
The Departure point: South Stack Kitchen Car park, South Stack, Holyhead, LL65 1YH

Hi Steve, Any chance you could put the route up on the forum, or at least the stop/break points? I'll use that to create a cutom route for my sat-nav (Garmin). I could make it available, if there's any interest.

Steve, I know I am registered for the s2s for 2013 but can you check to see if I registered rider & pillion or just rider? My son has found out he is not working now on that weekend and wants to come as pillion.

Carl, it looks like you have registered as rider only, it shouldnt be a problem to bring a pillion along though.

Can everyone please have a read of the New 'ride etiquette' (look in Files;Advice; ride etiquette V2) for this years Sunset to Sunrise tour

just a reminder to all those that have not done the Sunset to Sunrise Tour before. GPS files and route downloads are available here www.bikers4macmillan.org.uk/files_advice.aspxHowever, you shouldn't 'need' them. the ride is fully marshaled and you will have your own dedicated pod marshal - remember: your marshal loves you! All fuel stops will be clearly marked by dedicated Fuel stop Marshals. 1st stop is Flint (66M from Start) then Uttoxeter (142M from start or 76M from Flint) then Lincoln(211 from start, 69M from Uttoxeter or 145M from Flint) and finally Skegness( 48M from Lincoln,117M from Uttoxeter,193 from Flint or 259M from the Start). Most bikes will be able to do the complete ride with only one refuel if you arrive at the start with a full tank of fuel. Due to time constraints PLEASE ONLY REFUEL IF YOU HAVE TO. There are a number of all night petrol stations around Skegness and Bost at the end of the ride - you get a list of them in your Goodies bag at the start of the ride at South Stack. Finally: Due to the appalling weather last year and the limited numbers that the South Stack Kitchen can accommodate we have hired a Marquee so that people can dump gear in (at your own risk) or hide in if the weather turns horrible (it won't). This is also where you go to register your arrival and get your goodie bag. PLEASE make sure you are on site and have registered by 8.30 pm at the latest with a full tank of fuel. Introductions and RIDER briefs will take place in the Marquee at 8.30 - please make sure you attend. A selection of this years photos have now been upload to file - Sunset to Sunrise 2013 - so that we can relive those enduring 7 hours. Small fault though as I have uploaded the images backwards so start from the bottom.
